Fresh From Nashville

Kathy Rees of Needle Delights has been very, very busy recently. She had several new releases for the Nashville show last weekend, and we just received ours. So quickly, here's the rundown.

We've put together everything for the kit of Appalachia, which is a vision in purples, blues, and greens.

This is Kathy's latest design in her Destination Series, and it's a companion to Sierra. At 10" x 5", it's a nice portable piece. I'm loving this canvaswork design!

Rainforest Revisited is just what you'd think. Kathy liked her Rainforest Crunch so much, she decided to do another, related piece that uses the same basic threads but with more squares and more stitches. It's another beauty.

This charted needlepoint design is 8" x 16" and can be framed either vertically, as shown, or horizontally. I love the play of colors in this, and I think I like it more than Rainforest Crunch.

Finally, we have the four most recent additions to the Color Delights series. In chronological order (I think), they are Rust, Ice, Rose, and Camouflage. Rose and Camouflage are the designs released at Nashville. Each of these is the very portable 4" x 4" size, so you always have something to carry along with you in your bag.

Wow! It's like Needle Delights just exploded all over our blog!

Up in the Air with Laura Perin & Orna Willis

Have you seen the latest?

Laura J. Perin has just come out with another design in her American Quilt Collection, and it's a beauty. Stars are the motifs for this study in blues and purples, all done up in Caron Collection Watercolours, DMC #5 perle coton, and YLI ribbon floss on 18-ct canvas. We've got the Winter Sky kit all ready to ship today, so check it out!

Our second design with a sky theme is another oldie but goodie, this time from Orna Willis. Regal Sunrise is a charted needlepoint design that she created for Rainbow Gallery in 1997. The colors are gorgeous, and we'll be offering the kit as soon as all the fibers get here. In the meantime, feast your eyes on this vivid design.

Stunning Glitz & Glamour Harlequin Opal from DebBee's Designs

We think Debbie Rowley's outdone herself on her latest addition to the Glitz & Glamour series. Harlequin Opal is gorgeous!

This fascinating design is a fun stitch for the intermediate to advanced stitcher with the variety of stitches and threads. And it's a portable piece at 5.75" x 5.75" on 12" stretcher bars. We're working on the kit right now and hope to have it ready in the next week or two. We'll be sure to let you know.

Debbie's not one to rest on her laurels. She's also produced a new floral mosaic, only it's not just one design but eight! That's right. Eight extreme close-ups are included in her Pansy Portraits book. Like her American Beauty, the designs are made up of 4 x 4 thread stitches, and each stitch uses a different thread. There are 34 stitch and color variations! Take a look.

Recently we received a picture from a customer who purchased Debbie's Fun Stuff! kit. JoAnn has been enjoying stitching it and couldn't wait to finish it before showing it off. We think you'll agree, it's beautiful. Be sure to click on it to see a larger version that shows off the fun stitches Debbie used in this piece.
